NKOTB

I was thrilled to go to work today.

It was a normal first day on the job, filled with HR briefings and introductions to people whose names I forgot immediately. My boss seems really cool. Smart, too. I wrote several briefs for the daily publication, and he sat down and explained where I went wrong in a completely non-condescending way. Which, of course, I appreciated it very much.

I'm looking forward to getting my first paycheck in pounds. It's good that we have to wait only two weeks for it because we found out today that our bank account is at zero, because we misread our English bank statement and thought we had slightly more than we really did. We have just enough groceries (read:Ramen) and money on our pre-paid commuter cards to last us through the next few weeks, but definitely not longer that that.

Hopefully this will be the last time Marty and I will have to scrape through the month as we have been since we got here. Well, to be more accurate, since we got here and years before that when we stopped getting that wonderful Parents Pay The Rent Check. Oh, College Life, how I miss thee.

I'm not going to write much else now because I'm absolutely exhausted today because I got, like, two hours of sleep on account of the night-before jitters. I have a horrible time sleeping at night, usually, but hopefully the new regular schedule will help that. I haven't had a regular sched since high school, so I'm looking forward to that.

I'm very pleased and proud that you're making out like a champ overseas. But I miss you guys a lot. So I hope that someday we can live in the same country again.

xoxo

Nice to hear from you, Col Col. I'm sure we'll live in the same country again someday.
Hopefully we'll get to see you in London this year. Otherwise, we'll be back in the States in about a year for Christmas.

Well done. I hear we got you sick. I still keep getting lapses of the damn thing. :( Hope work continues in this positive manner.

Sweet! I knew London couldn't keep my big sis down! On a completely different note, did you see the demo Steve Jobs gave for the iPhone? So much hotness!
