Business as Usual
I heard about the two London bomb scares at work. I was so busy that I couldn't be bothered to think about it for more than a second. The shortest day I worked this week was 10 hours, and I wasn't going to let the news distract me from my deadlines. People were making jokes about it during lunchtime, but other than that everyone else had their heads down working too. Marty, also busy at work, had not heard about it until I told him when he got home late night.
I guess the weirdest thing about it is that we aren't worried at all. It's also kind of weird that they found the bombs. Those must have been half-assed terrorists, so that kind of makes me feel a little better.
I got some new sneakers this weekend. Buying shoes here has been difficult because they don't carry half sizes and I happen to be a half size. But I had to power through sale weekend on Oxford Street because my old sneakers were so embarrassing that I will throw them away immediately. Marty and I did our budget and we agreed to spend less on take-out food and more on our clothing. I bought some new T-shirts a few weekends ago because I literally did not half any summer clothing that was less than five years old. Mega-Mart is set for some remodeling, so get ready folks.
Speaking of shoes I've been walking to and from work every day this and it has been awesome. It is so much easier to sit at a desk all day if you have either come from a long walk or you know you'll be able to rock out on your iPod as soon as you finish that one last story. Otherwise, it's pretty hard, ya know?

At 11 p.m. on Sunday night we are not tired. So we're staying up and watching the boxset of24 season two that we found in a used dvd shop for £16! A steal. We're also eating apples and peanut butter because what could possibly be better than fresh fruits and veg and great TV? Nothing.
**Update: Uhh, more dangerous crazies in the UK. Hmm. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/sns-ap-britain-airport-crash,1,7170384.story?coll=chi-news-hed
