Grizwalds!

Ok, we've been lazy bloggers. Sorry!
Right now Marty's on a plane back to Chicago for the first time in 13 months(!) for a wedding. I'm packing for my business trip to Vienna and watching the first season of Heroes. We both get back to London on Wednesday.

Last week my parents came to visit us, and it was a whirlwind trip. For their first time out of the country, they did outstanding. I'm proud of them! They started in Paris before met me and Marty in London. Then the five of us went to Conwy, Wales to see a castle built a thousand years ago and off to Dublin, Ireland. All in a week and a half. My parents were extremely generous and insisted on paying for hotels, transportation, and meals out for the five us even though Marty and my currency is worth twice as much as theirs.

It meant a lot to me to have them here--it's no secret that I feel pretty isolated over here in Europe. But now that they've seen where I live, it sort of makes me feel a little more at peace...if that makes any sense. It was really difficult for all of them to make it over here, each for their individual reasons. But they pulled together to see me and get to know Marty a little better, so... You can't beat that.

Here are some of the highlights:

This is all of us in Wales.

Marty and I thrilled to be on a tour bus in Dublin!

Me, bro, and hub in a Dublin restaurant.

Oh, it was Marty's birthday on Oct. 13. His mom kindly sent us American chocolate. My mom also brought Yankee chocolate, on my request. This is our stash a week ago. It, errm, isn't quite as plentiful now.

You guys look great! And I know what you mean about having your family see where you live and the lifestyle you have. It does make one feel more at peace.
