Special SALE on Catch-up!
I thought I'd post a bit of an update for y'all. It's been a while and there is a lot to cover. In fact there is so much that needs to be blogged that it's paralyzed me... writing wise. It's like when I put leftovers in the fridge, intending to eat them the next day, but something happens and I end up eating something else. Then the day after that I have a normal dinner or something, and my leftovers are pushed to the back of my mind and fridge. As time goes on I know that the Tupperware is waiting there, holding in whatever gruesome butterfly my half-spent food is hatching into, waiting for me to spring it's cage, clean it and let the cycle start anew. But I don't.
I leave it there, careful to never even brush against the container, because to touch it would be to acknowledge that it's there and dissolve the hope that maybe, just maybe, it will go away on its own. Megan and I will sometimes comment to each other that something should be done about container, but as soon as it's determined that irresponsibility cannot be easily assigned, the topic slips silently back into the realm of the dark and unmentionable. Even if there is a clear culprit, enforcing a clean up is still not the immediate action. We both know that if things had gone slightly differently, our positions could easily be reversed.
And so we adapt. When I open the refrigerator there is a spot that I never look at. I know exactly where it is, and what it used to be, but if it knows that I looked it will expect to be dealt with. It is the shame spot.
Then one day you open the fridge, take the box out and clean it, like it was nothing at all. And like that the monster is deflated and life is humming along as normal.
And that's what happened with blogging. But the fridge is cleaned and we're starting fresh...
now.
