Our New Location

In addition the arrival of mini-Mart (coming soon!), we've also relocated our home base.  For those who didn't know, Megan and I had been living on the 27th floor of a downtown high rise.  When picking the location, we pictured friends coming over to relax on the balcony after work and summers spent plashing in the pool.  It never happened (with one exception: go Hartrichs!).  It turned out that having a cool apartment was made much less cool by being drastically inconvenient to travel to and park.  Ironic that the apartment we chose for it's location was deeded a failure for the same reason.

We decided to relocate to Logan Square and get close to all the people we moved back to Chicago to get close to.  We threw ourselves into the new place, trading the minimalist furniture and bare wall style of our downtown digs for a place that feels like it's our home (finally!).  It wasn't easy though.  We made some friends (overstock.com, CB2 and amazon.com) and a few enemies (IKEA is a fuckingpieceofshit!!!!) but in the end we were left standing in my favorite apartment I've ever had.

Before I go on, behold!

On top of the above style buffet, we also get to live within walking distance of almost everyone we spend time in this crazy town.  Can we go to wing night on Monday?  Yes we can.  Can we walk over to watch the Bears game, or play some cards?  Yes we can.  Can our friends stop by when the baby is born and Megan and I are too busy figuring out how to raise a child to go anywhere?  Yes they can... and had they better.

For next time, remind me to tell you guys about The Grocery Store Short-Circuit.

EDIT: Change how the pictures were displayed. Still figuring out Picasa.
EDIT 2: aparently X-Large is bigger than my margins... or I effed up the HTML.
